Garlic
I have something strange to tell you guys...
My father just got congestive heart failure, (he is fine now thank god) and i asked the doctor if garlic would be a good thing for him to take to help thin the blood.. He laughed at me and said that garlic is useless and had no medicinal value at all. I kinda bit my tongue and went with the flow and didnt say anything.. 3 days later, he prescribed my father comudian to help thin the blood out and gave my father a fact sheet with instructions what to eat and what not to eat while on the drug.. One of the directions said do not eat alot of green leagy veggies because of the vitamin K content.. OK, that was logical, vitamin K makes the blood clot and can interfere with comudian.. But something else struck me while reading the fact sheet...
IT SAID DO NOT EAT GARLIC BECAUSE IT HAS BLOOD THINNING QUALITIES AND CAN INTERFERE WITH COMUDIAN....
Am i missing something folks? The doctor just 3 days previous told me that garlic had no blood thinning effect and was useless and then he gives my father a fact sheet from the manufacturer of the drug that says DO NOT EAT GARLIC BECAUSE IT HAS BLOOD THINNING PROPERTIES AND CAN INTERFERE WITH THE DRUG COMUDIAN...
DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
